MANSFIELD, Mass. – Seniors Drew Bourdeau of the men's lacrosse team and Jess Perkins of the women's tennis team have been selected as Saint Anselm College's nominees for the 2017-18 Northeast-10 Conference Man and Woman of the Year, as announced on Tuesday.

Each nominee is a senior student-athlete that has excelled in all areas of their collegiate careers, on the field, in the classroom and in the community. The two respective winners are set to be announced at the NE10 year-end banquet in Garden City, N.Y. next month.

The Co-Chair of Saint Anselm's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Bourdeau is a two-time captain for the men's lacrosse team. With SAAC, he has helped lead a variety of initiatives, including opening the college's Hope Happens Here chapter. As a mathematics and secondary education major, Bourdeau has been named to the Dean's List and NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll a combined 10 times at Saint Anselm. He has also served as a New Student Orientation leader for the past three years and has been part of numerous other community service activities.

A two-time All-NE10 choice and three-time New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Region selection, Bourdeau started 56 of his 57 games for the Hawks over his four-year career. He totaled 129 ground balls and 62 caused turnovers while also scoring a pair of goals. His play helped Saint Anselm improve from 2-11 in his freshman season of 2015 to 11-5 in 2018.

As a nursing major, Perkins has been named to the Dean's List and NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll a combined 13 times out of 14 semesters on the Hilltop. She was also honored as an NE10 Academic All-Conference selection last spring and also received the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award following her junior year. Earlier this spring, she was named the co-recipient of Saint Anselm's Female Senior Scholar-Athlete Award.

Perkins became Saint Anselm's first women's tennis student-athlete to reach 100 career match victories, finishing her four years a combined 103-31 in singles and doubles. A seven-time NE10 Player of the Week and two-time All-NE10 choice at No. 1 singles, Perkins has played atop the Hawks' singles lineup her entire career, going 60-10 in singles play. This year, she was ranked in the top 20 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region rankings all season as part of a 15-2 season in singles.

The 2017-18 academic year marks the sixth year in which a Man of the Year will be named, while the NE10 Woman of the Year honoree will be put forth as the NE10's official NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.
