MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College football team has released its 2017 schedule, which will open on August 31st at Wagner College for the second-straight season.
Saint Anselm begins its second season under head coach Joe Adam with a trip to FCS Wagner for a rematch of last year's season opener against the Seahawks. In the first meeting between the two squads a year ago, Saint Anselm held a 7-3 lead at the end of one quarter, and was tied 10-10 at the half, before Wagner pulled away in the final two quarters. This marks the third-straight season the Hawks will open on the road against an FCS team.
The Hawks continue a road-heavy schedule in September when they open Northeast-10 Conference play by traveling to Bentley for a 7 p.m. matchup on Friday, Sept. 8.
Saint Anselm will play its first game at Grappone Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 16 against New Haven at 1 p.m., before closing out the month with back-to-back road games at Stonehill on Sept. 23 and American International on Sept. 30.
After a bye week in early October, Saint Anselm will host Assumption College on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. in a game that will serve as Homecoming Weekend for the College. In lieu of an NE10 Championship Weekend, the coaches of the NE10 agreed to rearrange the schedule to allow each school a bye week the first weekend of October.
The team heads back out on the road to wrap up the month of October when they travel to Pace on the 21st and Merrimack on the 28th, both for 1 p.m. games. The Hawks defeated the Setters 42-7 last season before downing the Warriors, 28-17, on Senior Day to end October a season ago.
Saint Anselm finishes the regular season with back-to-back home games against Southern Connecticut on Nov. 4 and LIU Post on Nov. 11 with both games being scheduled for 1 p.m. starts. The Hawks will celebrate their annual Senior Day on Nov. 11 against the Pioneers.
Tickets to Saint Anselm College football games are $5 for general admission and Saint Anselm students, faculty, staff and children get in FREE with valid identification.
