Down by a 21-3 margin shortly into the second quarter, Assumption quarterback Marc Monks dropped back to throw but the ball was batted away by Saint Anselm senior Liam Gillis. With the ball loose on the ground, Gillis picked it up and ran it back 47 yards to the Assumption two-yard line where Monks recovered to make the lunging tackle.

Saint Anselm quarterback Eric Fairweather connected with junior Kyle Hill on a four-yard pass to cut the Hawks deficit to 21-10 following the Parisi point-after.

The remaining points were scored by Assumption, who saw two more touchdown passes from Monks, two field goals by Cole Tracy and an 87-yard punt return touchdown by Harris to conclude the scoring.
