MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College men's basketball freshman Tim Guers (Langhorne, Pa.) has been named to the Division II Bulletin All-Freshman Team, it was announced last week.
Guers, the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year, helped lead the Hawks to a 23-8 overall record and 15-6 mark in the NE-10 as well as an appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
The freshman averaged 11.4 points on 47.1% shooting to go with 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 31.9 minutes per game this season. Guers scored in double-figures in 19-of-31 games this season, including a career-high 22 points in a 102-90 win over Saint Rose in the NE-10 Quarterfinals on February 28. He ranked inside the top-30 in the NE-10 in minutes (989 – 15th), field goal percentage (29th), three-point field goal percentage (39.5% - 21st), free-throw percentage (76.7% - 17th), defensive rebounds (113 – 28th), assists (66 – 29th), and blocks (16 – 19th).
Guers joins Roy Mabrey '15 and Mike McCahey (Clarkstown, N.Y.) as the other two members of the program to earn the honor in their freshman seasons.
