DANIELS, W. Va. – Saint Anselm College sophomore Stephen Hunt posted a second round 77 (+5) and currently sits tied for 37th at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Tournament held at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W. Va.
Hunt currently sits at a two-day score of 153 (+9) so far in the tournament. He is in a six-way tie for 37th, and he is 11 strokes back of the tournament leader in Chris Kupniewski of Mercyhurst who sits at -2.
The sophomore began the round on the back nine and sandwiched bogeys around a par on 11 to start the day. He followed that up with back-to-back pars on 13 and 14 before bogeying 15 and ending his first nine with three-straight pars to sit at +3.
Hunt got one back with a birdie on the par-four fourth hole, and after two-straight pars, he birdied the par-three seventh to move back to +4 on the day. Unfortunately, he would end the second-round with two-straight bogeys to finish +5 on Tuesday and +9 in the tournament.
Kupniewski is the only player currently in red numbers at -2, and he holds a four-stroke lead over the next three closest golfers who sit at +2.
Hunt tees off tomorrow morning on the back nine at 9 a.m. and he will play with Doug Kulikowski of Bentley and Matt Paradise of Southern N.H. To follow along with Hunt's final round, live results can be found by clicking here.
