MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Stephen Hunt wrapped up a successful second season at Saint Anselm by earning All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team honors on Friday morning.
Hunt competed in 10-of-11 events this season, finishing as the top golfer for the Hawks in eight of the ten competitions. Hunt finished in a tie for first place at the NEIGA Championship with a two round score of 152 (76-76), and finished in the top-10 at the Bowdoin Invitational (2nd – 147), Mike Bello Invitational (6th – 151) and NCAA East Regionals (T-7th – 223).
At the NCAA Regionals held in West Virginia, Hunt shot an opening round 76 to end the first day in a tie for 26th before firing a second round 77 to enter the final day in a tie for 37th. On the last day of the Regional, Hunt carded five birdies to shoot a two-under 70 and climb all the way into a tie for seventh place, just missing out on qualifying for the National Tournament.
