Golf trio exits NE10 Championships opener tied for second

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Three members of the Saint Anselm College golf team exited the first day of competition at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship tied for second place at the Lake Sunapee Country Club on Monday.

DAY ONE RESULTS

Junior Stephen Hunt, freshman Alec Brunelle and senior Tad Link all shot a one-over 71 to tie for second place in the crowded field of 50 golfers. Senior Nick Carter turned in a first-day score of 79 with junior Billy Argus carding an 80.

Bentley leads the field of 10 teams with 289 strokes, nine over par. Saint Anselm is second followed by Assumption and Franklin Pierce, each tied with 298 strokes through the first day.

Saint Anselm is in the hunt for its first team NE10 golf championship since 1997 and will complete the two-day event on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
