Hunt finishes sixth, golf seventh at Saint Rose Fall Shootout

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – The Saint Anselm College golf team shaved 14 shots off its day-one total to move up one spot and finish seventh at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout, which concluded on Saturday at Pinehaven Country Club.

Final Results

After shooting a 319 on Friday, Saint Anselm fired a 305 on Saturday to place seventh in the 10-team field. Stephen Hunt and Joe Brunelle both posted rounds of 74 (+3) to lead the Hawks on day two.

Hunt finished the event tied for sixth individually with rounds of 73 and 74 and was just three shots behind individual champion Sam Myers of Franklin Pierce. Tad Link shot a 78 (+7) on Saturday to finish in a tie for 18th (76-78-154).

Brunelle improved by 10 shots from Friday's round to tie for 32nd. Jack Dowding (86-79-165) and Austin Coyne (89-82-171) rounded out the finishers for Saint Anselm.

Franklin Pierce won the tournament with a score of 588 (+20), which was nine shots ahead of second-pace Le Moyne.

Saint Anselm heads to Cicero, N.Y. for the Le Moyne Fall Invitational at Lake Shore Yacht & Country Club on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13-14.
