SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Sophomore Johnny Daniels (Andover, Mass.) and junior Nick Dries (Commerce Township, Mich.) of the Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team each netted a Northeast-10 weekly award for the period ending Dec. 2, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Daniels earned Northeast-10 Player of the Week honors after tallying three points on a pair of goals and an assist as the Hawks went 2-0-0 last week. Saint Anselm took down Assumption College, 7-0, Wednesday before Daniels made his return to the ice after missing five games due to injury and recorded the two goals, as well as the assist, in a 4-1 victory against New England College on Saturday.
Dries was selected as the Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week after stopping 41 shots for a .976 save percentage and a 0.50 GAA in two games. Dries, who was also tabbed as the ECAC East Goalie of the Week on Monday, made all 19 saves against Assumption for his second shutout of the season and then stopped 22 of 23 shots against NEC to earn his third straight win.
Daniels, Dries and the Hawks return to action Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. when they play host to Franklin Pierce University at Sullivan Arena.
