QUEENSBURY, N.Y. - The Saint Anselm College women's skiing team finished fourth and the men sixth on Sunday in the giant slalom to cap a busy weekend at West Mountain.
The women placed fourth in the nine-team field with top times from seniors Taylor Cudhea and Leika Scott, as well as sophomore Katherine Quinn. The men were sixth, led by times from sophomores Luke Heald and Joe Wirth.
Saint Anselm placed two women in the top-15 and four in the top-25, while the men landed one top-25 individual. Cudhea led the Hawks with a 12th-place finish in 2:18.70, followed closely behind by Scott, who finished 13th with a time of 2:18.94.
Quinn (21st, 2:22.78) and freshman Emilie Brush (25th, 2:23.93) completed their runs with top-25 times, as did Heald (22nd, 2:12.51) for the men. Wirth recorded a time of 2:21.28 for a 33rd-place finish.
The Hawks race again on Saturday, Feb. 10 at Blackwater/Proctor Ski Area in Andover, N.H.
