COLCHESTER, VT - On the back of goaltender Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) and his six save effort, the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime draw with the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's College Tuesday evening. The Hawks collect their second tie of the season, evening their record to 2-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 within the Northeast-10 Conference. Following their first conference game of the season, the Purple Knights record stands at 2-1-2 overall.
With shots even at nine apiece through regulation time, the Hawks exploded for six shots in the first overtime but were unable to capitalize on their chances. Saint Michael's was held to only two shots in the overtime periods. Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) led the Hawks with six shots on goal.
Moriarty collected his second tie of the season alongside his third shutout of the year. Saint Michael's goaltender Logan Kingman turned aside 10 shots on goal in the double-overtime effort.
The Hawks return to action Saturday, Sept. 17 as they will travel to Le Moyne College to play in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
