MANCHESTER, N.H. – Kyle Harris won his third-straight singles match as visiting Adelphi University defeated the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team 8-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday afternoon at the Carr Center.
Harris defeated Connor Dove 8-4 at No. 5 singles to provide Saint Anselm (4-11, 1-5 NE10) with its point and improve to 8-7 this season. Adelphi (4-2, 2-0 NE10) won two close matches as part of a doubles sweep and went on to record five singles victories to top the Hawks.
In doubles, the Panthers picked up an 8-0 win at the top spot, but the other two matches were tight affairs. Roey Heymann and Sabin Adrian Saveluc defeated Adam Weinstin and Daniel Kmetz in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles, while Dove and David Robres edged Brian Kavanagh and Brain Madden 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
Outside of Harris' victory, Adelphi recorded straight-set victories at the top-four spots among its five singles points. Kavanagh put six games on the board for the Hawks in a 6-3, 6-3 setback to Saveluc at the fourth spot.
Saint Anselm hosts Damen in a non-conference match on Friday, March 31 at 3 p.m.
