Men's tennis blanked by Bentley

MILFORD, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team was downed, 9-0, by Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday afternoon at Hampshire Hills Athletic Club.

Bentley (10-6, 2-2 NE10) won all six singles matches in straight sets after claiming a pair of close victories in doubles to defeat Saint Anselm (1-12, 0-6 NE10).

At No. 2 doubles, seniors Adam Weinstein and Brian Kavanagh battled Michael Fuca and Brett Gilman into a tiebreaker before falling 8-6 in the breaker. The Bentley duo of Connor Aulson and Dylan Granat picked up an 8-5 win over Benji Page and Daniel Kmetz at No. 3 doubles.

The Falcons did not drop a set in singles, with the matches at No. 2 singles and No. 6 singles being the closest of the afternoon. At the second spot, George Samander topped Weinstein, 6-3, 6-4, while Nicholas Hatcher defeated Page, 6-4, 6-3, at the sixth spot.

Saint Anselm travels to Assumption to face the Greyhounds on Saturday, Mar. 31 at 11 a.m.
