WESTFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Anthony Galasso led all Saint Anselm College men's cross country runners at Saturday's 22nd annual James Earley Invitational.
The Hawks finished 17th out of the crowded field of 37 teams competing in the 8K race.
Galasso crossed the finish line in 28:42.23 while freshman Jordan Cook placed 83rd, completing the course in 28:54.51. Classmate Brodie Deshaies clocked in at 29:22.96, finishing ahead of junior Adam Pakalnis (30:01.79).
Freshman Trent Briggs finished in 142nd place with a time of 30:20.48 and classmate Ben Sweesy (31:02.29) finished 13 places behind Briggs. Freshman Hugh Cameron navigated the race in 31:44.41 and junior Timothy Stap turned in a time of 32:27.92.
Junior Alexander Merloni, making his season debut, rounded out the Saint Anselm field with a time of 39:10.
Saint Anselm returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 22, heading to the Northeast-10 Conference championship hosted by American International College. The men's race will begin at high noon.
