Women’s Ice Hockey’s Winters, Kazmer Garner ECAC East Weekly Awards

CENTERVILLE, MASS. – Junior Courtney Winters (Swampscott, Mass.) and freshman Alex Kazmer (Crystal Lake, Ill.) were named ECAC East Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Monday evening.

Winters tallied four points this past week as she led the Hawks to a 5-0 victory over the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University. In addition to her hat trick, including one power-play goal, Winters added an assist on the first goal of the game.

Kazmer recorded a pair of assists as the Hawks were victorious in their only game of the week. Kazmer has recorded seven points – including six assists – on the year, which ranks fifth among all freshmen in the ECAC Women's East.

Winters, Kazmer and the rest of the Hawks return to action Tuesday, Jan. 8 when they play host to Bowdoin College in a 4 p.m. puck drop at Thomas F. Sullivan Arena.
