MANSFIELD, Mass. – Three members of the Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team landed spots on the 2017 Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference Teams, as announced on Friday.
Liv Connly gathered her third All-NE10 accolade after being named to the All-NE10 Second Team, Meaghan Sheehy was selected to the All-NE10 Third Team and Lauren Lockard was picked as an All-Rookie Team selection.
Connly, who was named to the Third Team last season and the Second Team and All-Rookie Team as a freshman, started all 15 games for Saint Anselm in defense, recording 30 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers. Her 32 caused turnovers led the Hawks, ranked second in single-season program history and were fifth-most in the NE10, while her rate of 2.13 caused turnovers per game ranked 24th in the country. Connly finished her career fourth all-time at Saint Anselm with 60 caused turnovers.
Sheehy was Saint Anselm's leading scorer during a breakout junior season, recording 45 goals and 20 assists for 65 points. In addition to leading the Hawks in all three categories, she was among the NE10's top 10 in goals, assists and points. Her 20 assists are tied for the fifth-best mark in a single season on the Hilltop. On March 9, Sheehy matched the program record with 10 points on six goals and four assists in a 17-10 win over the University of Tampa.
In her rookie season, Lockard contributed in a variety of ways, tallying 24 ground balls, 22 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers while starting seven of her 17 appearances. She ranked third on the team in caused turnovers, fourth in draw controls and sixth in ground balls. Lockard had a season-high five draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers at Saint Michael's on April 18 and had eight games with multiple ground balls over the course of the season.
Saint Anselm finished the season 6-11 overall and 4-9 in the NE10 with six losses to ranked opposition. The Hawks will lose just three seniors from their 2017 roster next season.
