SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Lauren Oxley (Bristow, Va.) and freshman Catherine Morgan (Farmington Heights, Mich.) each recorded a team-high nine kills as the Saint Anselm College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 result with Le Moyne College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 volleyball action.
Saint Anselm falls to 7-16 overall with the loss, including 2-8 in the conference, as the Dolphins improve to 9-11, 3-5 NE-10.
The Hawks dropped the first set, 25-12, before taking the second, 25-19. Le Moyne took a closely-contested third set, 25-23, before capturing the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Nine kills is the third-best performance of Morgan's career, while her 10 digs established a new second best for the rookie.
Oxley led the team with a .333 hitting percentage, followed by senior Vivian Fitzgerald (Winfield, Ill.), whose seven kills ranked second on the team. Senior Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) also chipped in seven kills, in addition to 13 digs. Junior Holland McNabb (Huntington Beach, Calif.) accumulated five kills and a pair of digs for the Hawks.
