Department of Athletics launches two-day fundraising challenge

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm College Department of Athletics will launch its inaugural two-day #HawksSoarHigher giving challenge on Tuesday with a goal of 500 gifts to Athletics on Mar. 20-21. This type of online fundraising initiative is the first of its kind for the Hawks.

On these days, Athletics is asking the entire Anselmian community to participate in a global giving event by making a gift of any size. As part of the campaign, individuals can contribute to the Department of Athletics and its 20 varsity sports teams. Gifts can be earmarked specifically for individual teams or the General Athletics Fund.

"Saint Anselm athletics has an extremely devoted fan base that consists of alumni, family, parents, faculty, staff and student-athletes," remarked Director of Athletics Daron Montgomery. "Their passion for Hawks athletics is contagious and their support for our varsity sports teams is unparalleled. Through this Days of Giving campaign, we are confident that our fans will respond to the fundraising challenge in true Benedictine and Anselmian spirit."

The first-ever crowdfunding campaign for Saint Anselm Athletics will run for two days (Mar. 20-21) through the College's GiveCampus platform. In lieu of a traditional "Phone-a-thon" or direct mailing campaign, the GiveCampus technology allows donors a modern way to support student-athletes in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence at their own convenience.

Donations will be streamlined through the website and sport-specific fundraising goals will update automatically. Each sports team at Saint Anselm also has a customized video interview with a student-athlete where the reasons for their intercollegiate athletics participation are revealed.

The support of donors is critical to the success of the campaign. Fans of Hawks athletics are encouraged to help support the crowdfunding campaign with the College's Digital Toolkit along with the use of the customized hashtag, #HawksSoarHigher.
