Romano hired as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm College Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Jaimen Romano as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.

Romano comes to the Hilltop with experience in athletic communications gained from his most recent stop at Merrimack College, where he served as the primary media contact for six of the Warriors' NCAA Division II athletics programs and their Division I women's ice hockey program.

With Merrimack, a fellow Northeast-10 Conference institution, Romano provided written content for the athletics website, leveraged the College's social media accounts to promote student-athletes and supervised a student work study staff. He also created video highlights, graphics and other publications for use on the athletics website.

"We are eager to begin working with Jaimen," remarked Director of Athletic Communications, Griffin Spencer. "He has experience working at a variety of different institutions and his experience, specifically within the Northeast-10 Conference, distinguished himself during the search process."

Romano's background also includes athletic communications stints at Bard College, Brevard College and Saint Michael's College where he assisted the Purple Knights during the 2013-14 athletics season. He has also served as the Assistant General Manager for the Vermont Mountaineers, a member of the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), for eight seasons.

"I am excited to join the Department of Athletics at Saint Anselm," said Romano. "I am very grateful for the opportunity that the entire search committee, including [Spencer], Mitch Capelle and Daron Montgomery, offered to me. Saint Anselm is a great institution and am looking forward to publicizing the efforts of the student-athletes."

Romano began his tenure in Manchester on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
