Debuting in the Fall of 2017, the special award was created to allow the Department of Athletics to recognize individuals that are instrumental to the College's efforts to offer a first-class, transformational student-athlete experience. The awards are issued each month during the academic year to two individuals employed by the institution outside of athletics.
Recipients will be colleagues, faculty, staff or administrators who advocate for Saint Anselm student-athletes and go above and beyond in their contributions each day on the Hilltop.
Poirier, the Executive Assistant for the Office of the President, began her tenure at Saint Anselm in 2002. She works closely with the President's Cabinet and also serves as a liaison to the Board of Trustees. Poirier wears many hats behind the scenes to help the Hawks Soar Higher.
"I am truly humbled by this honor," said Poirier. "Our student-athlete's experience has been greatly enhanced over the past few years and that is reflected in both the classroom and in their respective sport. I am proud to be a part of their four years on the Hilltop."
Stankiewicz serves the campus community as a part of the Safety and Security Operations office and is also the primary photographer for Saint Anselm athletics events, having shot for the College dating back nearly a decade. In his 11th year on the Hilltop, Stankiewicz's efforts in both roles support the student-athlete experience.
"We have great student-athletes here at Saint Anselm," said Stankiewicz. "We have a strong athletics program here on the Hilltop and it's nice to be a small part of the overall success."
