MANSFIELD, Mass. – Recent Saint Anselm College graduate Andrew Andary '23 has been named a finalist for the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference Man of the Year.

The NE10 announced earlier in May its list of 27 student-athletes that have been nominated for the 2022-23 Man and Woman of the Year awards. Both honors are selected by the Conference's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) Council.

Each nominee is a senior student-athlete that has excelled in all areas of their collegiate careers – on the playing surface, in the classroom and in the community. The two winners are set to be announced at the NE10 Banquet hosted by Pace University on the night of Sunday, June 4.

Each NE10 institution nominates for both Man and Woman of the Year honors. The 2022-23 academic year marks the 11th time that the league will award the NE10 Man of the Year honor, while the NE10 Woman of the Year honor has been awarded since 2005-06 and will be put forth as the league's official NCAA Woman of the Year candidate.

Andary, a co-captain for the Saint Anselm men's ice hockey program in 2022-23, led the Hawks in goals while ranking second in points. Andary skated to a plus-11 on-ice rating while being credited with three power play goals and two game-winning scores. In his last nine games played of the season, Andary scored eight goals and assisted on three others for 11 points including a one goal, two assist effort in a 5-0 win over Franklin Pierce in the NE10 Semifinals on Feb. 25.

Andary aided the Hawks to a program record 21 wins and the program's 11th NE10 Men's Ice Hockey Championship. Saint Anselm posted a record of 21-10-3 in 2022-23 and won the Terry Moran Invitational which was the first mid-season tournament win for the program since the 2016-17 campaign.

In the 2022-23 season, Andary secured NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors as well as being named to the NE10 All-Tournament Team. He was named the NE10 Player of the Week once and secured both the Saint Anselm Dean's List and the NE10 Academic Honor Roll.

In his collegiate career, Andary scored 38 goals and assisted on 37 others for 75 points in 81 games played. The Macomb, Mich. native put 232 shots on goal and has been credited with nine power play goals, one shorthanded goal, and four game-winning scores.

Andary was selected as a finalist for the Joe Concannon Award, presented to the best NCAA Division II-III American born hockey student-athlete in New England following a career-best 2021-22 campaign. Also in that season, Andary was named the NE10 Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference, NE10 Academic All-Conference, and a New England Hockey Writers Association Division II-III All-Star.

Academically, Andary has been named to the Saint Anselm Dean's List and the NE10 Academic Honor Roll on seven occasions.
