Game 1 – Stonehill 4, Saint Anselm 2 (BOX SCORE)

Freshman Peyton Goodrich (Portsmouth, N.H.) drove in both of his team's runs on the day, lifting a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning before rapping an RBI double in the ninth inning of game one.

Stonehill scored its first run on an error and an RBI single with two down in the stanza produced the second run of the contest. The Skyhawks had runners on the corners in the bottom of the sixth inning before a sacrifice bunt scored a baserunner from third base, originally advancing there due to a throwing error.

After the Goodrich sacrifice fly, another Hawks fielding error allowed a run to score. With runners on second and third, a miscue by the Saint Anselm shortstop allowed the fourth runner of the game to score. Goodrich had an RBI double in the top of the ninth, driving in sophomore Max Silverman (Westford, Mass.) who smacked a one-out single to right field.

Freshman Taylor French (Goffstown, N.H.) pitched six innings, yielding only one earned run. Junior Ryan Schworer (Medfield, Mass.) pitched two innings without allowing an earned run, fanning two batters. Matt Smith and Brendan Powicki pitched nine innings with only two runs allowed for Stonehill.

Game 2 – Stonehill 8, Saint Anselm 0 (BOX SCORE)

With the score deadlocked at zero through four-and-a-half innings of play, Stonehill scored four runs in the home half of the fifth inning and never looked back as a sacrifice fly preceded a single, two walks, and a bases-clearing double by Matt Farragher.

Three more runs came around to score in the bottom of the sixth, thanks to four hits that followed a quick first out of the frame. Stonehill plated an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh with a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch drawn by Noah Lucier.

The Hawks had only five hits, led by senior Tyler McKeon (Rutland, Mass.) who added two hits after logging a one-for-two performance in the day's first game. Junior Jared Ferris (Methuen, Mass.) allowed six earned runs for Saint Anselm in five-and-two-thirds innings before freshman Andy Grygorcewicz (Northampton, Mass.) pitched two-and-a-third innings with one earned run.
