Football’s Crawford Named NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Junior DB Tyler Crawford (Lamoine, Maine) of the Saint Anselm College football team was named the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, the conference announced Monday.

Crawford helped Saint Anselm record a 47-21 victory at Pace on Saturday as the defense held the Setters to the lowest scoring output of any Hawk opponent this season. Crawford played a big role as he recorded seven tackles - six solo stops - forced a fumble and brought his second interception of the season back 69 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown – the third longest interception return in program history – that made it 40-7 after the extra point with 12:36 remaining in the fourth.

Crawford and the Hawks go for two-in-a-row when they play host to Assumption College on Saturday, Oct. 29 (1 p.m.) at Grappone Stadium on Homecoming. The first 200 students in attendance will receive free "Hawks Bleed Blue" t-shirts.
