GILBERT, Ariz. – The Saint Anselm College field hockey team will be represented at the Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division II Senior Game to be held in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Friday, Nov. 30.
Seniors Maddie Bressler (Franklin, Mass.) and Brooke Haskell (Winslow, Maine) were named to the team with Abby Walker (Scarborough, Maine) selected as an alternate. For the third season in a row, the Hawks had three individuals named to the annual senior game.
The Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division II Senior Game features top senior players in the nation as those selected are given the opportunity to represent their institution while competing against their peers. The game is currently scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at Duquesne's Arthur J. Rooney Athletic Field.
Bressler has potted four goals for the Hawks in 2018, playing in all 11 games as of Thursday's announcement. Across a four-year career in a Saint Anselm uniform, Bressler has scored 13 goals and eight assists for 34 points (13-8=34) with three of them recorded as game-winning strikes.
Haskell has served as a leader in the Hawks backfield, playing and starting all 11 games while limiting opponents to a 1.24 goals-against average, the nation's sixth-best figure. She has seen action in 72 career games, including a career-high 22 games played in 2016 as a sophomore.
Walker has emerged as a top scoring threat for the Hawks during her senior season, leading Saint Anselm with a career-high five goals and two assists for 12 points (5-2=12). She has notched two game-winning goals in 2018, the first coming against Saint Michael's on Sept. 15 and later against Southern Conn. St. on Oct. 6.
