MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman Carly LaCasse (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) of the nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College field hockey team was named to the All-Rookie Team by Synapse Sports as part of its annual All-America announcement.
LaCasse helped the Hawks post a 15-7 record and earn their third-straight berth in the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship. Saint Anselm also picked up its fourth-straight spot in the Northeast-10 Conference postseason.
The fifth student-athlete in team history to earn All-Rookie Team merits from Synapse Sports, LaCasse made 22 appearances as a freshman and scored eight goals and two assists for 18 points (8-2=18). Scoring her first collegiate goal in her debut at Bellarmine on Aug. 31, LaCasse later potted the overtime game-winner against Southern New Hampshire on Oct. 23.
On the season, LaCasse scored eight goals via 16 on-target shots. She also scored the first goal of the game in three of her team's 22 contests and was ranked in the top-100 in NCAA Division II in goals per game (0.36) and points per game (0.82).
