MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman guard/forward Chris Paul of the Saint Anselm College men's basketball team collected All-Rookie Team honors from the Northeast-10 Conference as the league announced its all-conference teams on Monday.

Paul, a two-time NE10 Rookie of the Week (Jan. 8, Jan. 15), was named to the five-man All-Rookie Team along with NE10 Rookie of the Year Ulyen Coleman of Southern Connecticut, Matthew Kelly of Assumption, Jordan Mello-Klein of Bentley and Derrick Rowland of New Haven. Paul is Saint Anselm's first All-Rookie pick since teammate and newly-minted NE10 Player of the Year Tim Guers was the NE10 Rookie of the Year in 2015-16.
In his freshman season on the Hilltop, Paul has started all 28 games for the Hawks, averaging 11.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 28.9 minutes per game. He ranks fourth on the team in scoring and second in rebounding, while shooting 56.1 percent from the field and 75.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Paul has 16 double-digit scoring performances to his credit this season, including 14 in the last 17 games, and four 20-plus-point outings. The Highland Mills, N.Y. product is shooting 71.4 percent (30-for-42) from the field over his last six games and has scored 45 points over the last two games.
Saint Anselm, the fifth-ranked team in the East Region in the latest regional rankings, hosts Bentley in the semifinals of the NE10 Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
