MANCHESTER, N.H. – The nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's basketball team cruised to a 93-61 victory over Saint Michael's College on Saturday at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

Down by five points only 5:30 into the game, Saint Anselm fired off 16-straight points to build an 11-point lead, 27-16, with 9:17 left in the first half. The Purple Knights did not go away quietly, shrinking the Saint Anselm lead to six points with 16:55 to go and seven points with 8:22 left in regulation time.
Needing a strong offensive effort in the game's final eight minutes to hold off the hard-charging Saint Michael's side, Saint Anselm concluded the game on a 31-6 scoring run that put the contest away for good. During that span, the Hawks were 10-for-11 from the floor, making six of their seven shots from beyond the arc while committing only one turnover.
Guers and classmate Cody Ball (Londonderry, N.H.) were honored with a pre-game ceremony as part of Senior Day for the Hawks. The duo has helped Saint Anselm to a nationally-prominent level of success, reaching the NCAA Division II Tournament in each of their first three years on the Hilltop.
Saint Michael's was led by Derek Cheatom and his team-leading 17 points.
Saint Anselm will travel to Stonehill on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for the regular-season finale.
