Guers earns D2CCA All-East Region honors for third-straight season

RINDGE, N.H. – Senior guard Tim Guers (Langhorne, Pa.) of the nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's basketball team earned First Team placement on the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association NCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-East Region roster.

Guers has now earned First Team All-East Region honors for three-straight seasons and is the first student-athlete in program history to earn three consecutive top team awards. Earlier in the day, it was revealed that he was one of 25 student-athletes to remain on the Bevo Francis Award watch list.

Guers and the Hawks will battle Molloy in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball East Region Championship on Saturday. He has helped the Hawks to their 22nd appearance in the Division II Tournament and a 20th ranking in the most recent National Association of Basketball Coaches National Poll.

Guers, a two-time Northeast-10 Player of the Year recipient, is averaging exactly 22 points per game in a stellar senior season for the Hawks. Playing nearly 38 minutes per game, Guers ranks fifth in the NE10 in assists per game (5.5) and seventh in rebounds per game (7.3). His 44.4% percentage from three-point distance is also the sixth-best figure among NE10 student-athletes.

On Feb. 13 against Assumption, Guers became the program's all-time leading scorer by passing Matt Cahill '06, who racked up 2,081 points across 119 career games. Exiting the team's last game against Southern Conn. St. on Sunday, Guers has posted 2,222 career points in 117 career games and his 19.0 career points per game is the third-best figure in team history.

A Preseason All-America pick by the Division II Bulletin andStreet & Smith's Magazineprior to this season, Guers becomes the second three-time recipient of First Team All-Conference honors in team history, equaling Cahill who accomplished the feat from 2003-04 to 2005-06. Guers began his career with All-Rookie Team honors in 2015-16.

Ranking first in team history in field goals made (760), Guers stands as the only Hawks student-athlete ever to rank in the top-10 in career points (2,222), overall rebounds (767) and assists (495). A two-time team captain, Guers earned NABC First Team All-America honors last season and has earned First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.

Entering Saturday's game, Guers has scored at least 20 points in all but one of his last 13 games played. In that span, he is averaging 22.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, making just shy of 44% of his three-point field goal attempts (31-for-71). With 2,222 career points, Guers is fourth in all-time Northeast-10 Conference history in point scoring.
