Steve Drescher enters his 24th season as a member of the Saint Anselm men's basketball staff in 2019-20.
Drescher is a 1987 graduate of Saint Anselm and returned after spending numerous seasons with the UMass Lowell men's basketball program, including its run to the NCAA national championship in 1987-88.
Drescher graduated from Saint Anselm with a degree in computer science and mathematics. He moved on to UMass Lowell where he studied as a graduate student, earning his master's degree in mathematics with computer science in 1989.
Drescher hasn't cut his ties to his former graduate school. While serving coaching duties for Saint Anselm, he continues to serve UML as a network manager in the IT department.
Drescher has brought valuable experience in the coordination of scouting and film breakdown of opponents to Saint Anselm.
During the spring and summer season, Drescher adds to his busy schedule with a full load of baseball umpiring duties. An NCAA certified umpire, Drescher works college games throughout the region.
Originally from Nashua, N.H., Drescher is a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua.
