Men's golf in ninth to open Mike Bello Invitational

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Stephen Hunt led the Saint Anselm College men's golf team to a ninth place finish after the first day of competition at the Mike Bello Invitational. The two-day tournament is being played at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse.

Day One Results

Hunt is tied for 13th place in the field, shooting a five-over 76 on the par 71 course. Senior Tad Link shot a first-round 79 and freshman Alec Brunelle carded an 11-over 82 to tie for 47th place. Senior Joe Brunelle and sophomore Austin Coyne rounded out the field with scores of 83 and 94, respectively.

Matt Paradis of Southern New Hampshire leads the crowded field with a one-under 70. Roberts Wesleyan leads the 15-team field with a combined 296 (+12) with Southern New Hampshire and Dominican (N.Y.) placing second and third.

The Hawks will close play in the Mike Bello Invitational on Friday.
