SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College men's golf team completed play at the American International College Invitational in fifth place out of 10 programs on Sunday.
The Hawks carded a team score of 619, shooting 305 on Sunday after posting a 314 on Saturday to open play at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course.
Sophomore Alec Brunelle (Salem, N.H.) finished the tournament tied for third place, shooting a 71 on Sunday to finish one-under par (146). The third place finish was his best since a fifth place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 as a freshman.
Freshman Eddie Morin (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished seven-over par, placing 15th, with classmate James Henry (Reading, Mass.) rebounding on Sunday with a 75 to finish 14-over. Freshman Peter Hudner (Canton, Mass.) and freshman Jared Carr (Milton, Mass.) rounded out the Saint Anselm participants in the tournament, shooting a 164 and a 176, respectively.
The Hawks will head to the two-day Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Sunday, Sept. 30-Monday, Oct. 1. Last season, Saint Anselm finished third out of 10 programs as then-junior Stephen Hunt (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Brunelle were selected to the league's All-Championship Team.
