Hunt shoots season-low to cap Saint Rose Fall Shootout

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – Senior Stephen Hunt (Wilbraham, Mass.) of the Saint Anselm College men's golf team led all student-athletes on Sunday to complete the two-day Saint Rose Fall Shootout.

Hunt carded a second-day score of 71, a season-low figure, to lead the field of 62 golfers on Sunday. He trailed the individual winner, Hunter Westcott from Dominican (N.Y.), by only three strokes and finished in third place with a two-day score of 146 (72-74, +5).

Senior Billy Argus (Canton, Mass.) had a strong second day on the links, shooting a 75 to finish with a two-day score of 154 (+12). Freshman Cole English (Merrimac, Mass.) shaved 10 strokes off of his first day total, shooting an 82, while junior Austin Coyne (Milton, Mass.) posted a second-day 86. Freshman Eddie Morin (East Longmeadow, Mass.) posted an 88 on the second day of action.

Franklin Pierce claimed the team championship, shooting a combined score of 606 (+34).

The Hawks wrap up the fall calendar at the three-day NEIGA Championship beginning on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Captain's Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
