DANBURY, Conn. – Senior Johnny Daniels (Andover, Mass.) and junior Tyler Estee (Bow, N.H.) were both named an All-Eastern College Athletic Conference Men's Ice Hockey Honorable Mention, the league announced Thursday.
Daniels, a senior forward who missed six games midway through the season with injury, led Saint Anselm with eight goals scored on the season and finished in second among his teammates with 15 overall points. He recorded the game-winner against New England College back on December 5 and recorded two scores on power play chances for the Hawks this season. Daniels also added both of his short-handed goals this season in ECAC East play, scoring eight goals and five assists against league foes.
Estee appeared in all 25 games as a junior defenseman for the Hawks and led all Saint Anselm defensemen in scoring with three goals and five assists for eight season points. Two of those goals and four assists have come against ECAC East league opponents.
The Hawks compiled a season record of 9-13-3 and 7-9-2 in the ECAC East, tying for fourth place league standings. It was the highest finish since 2012-13 with Saint Anselm went 9-7-2 in the conference.
Saint Anselm will open its Northeast-10 Conference Championship tournament Saturday, traveling to Stonehill for a 1:50 p.m. matchup for a semifinal game at Foxboro Sports Center. The winner will advance to play the winner of top-seeded Saint Michael's and fourth-seeded Assumption on Feb. 28.
