Andreucci pegged as NE10 Rookie of the Week for second time

MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the second time this season, freshman forward Alec Andreucci of the Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon.

Andreucci recorded four assists in three games last week for Saint Anselm, which went 2-1 in NE10 conference play during the week. The Hawks started the week with a 3-1 home victory over Stonehill on Tuesday evening before earning a road split with NE10 co-leader Saint Michael's thanks to a 4-2 victory on Saturday. Andreucci was previously honored by the NE10 on Dec. 4, 2017.

In Saturday night's win over the Purple Knights, Andreucci recorded a career-high three assists, including assisting on both of Bryan Green's third-period goals that broke a 2-2 tie. Earlier in the week, he had an assist on Saint Anselm's first goal in a three-goal second period in the win over Stonehill.

With 17 points on six goals and 11 assists through 20 games, Andreucci leads all NE10 freshmen in points this season with six more than the next skater, Saint Michael's Paul McAuliffe. Andeucci also ranks in the league's top-20 overall in points, goals and assists.

Saint Anselm heads to in-state foe Franklin Pierce for a series this weekend, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9-10 at Winchendon School.
