Folsom gathers NE10 Rookie of the Week accolade

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman forward Jonathan Folsom of the Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team was selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced on Monday afternoon.

Folsom scored the go-ahead goal for Saint Anselm midway through the second period of a 4-2 victory over Southern New Hampshire on Friday evening. It was also Folsom's first collegiate goal, while the win clinched the 13th NE10 regular-season title in program history for the Hawks.

In 12 games this season, the Middleton, Mass. product has registered a goal and three assists along with a +3 rating. The Hawks are 4-0 when Folsom records a point this season, with three of his four points coming in NE10 play.

Folsom is the second different Saint Anselm skater to be named NE10 Rookie of the Week this season, joining classmate Alec Andreucci, who has been honored a league-high three times.

Saint Anselm meets Southern New Hampshire for the third time in a week as the two collide in the NE10 Championship semifinals at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Sullivan Arena.
