MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey junior Dave Almeida (Bristol, R.I.) was named Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Player of the Week as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Almeida helped guide the Hawks to a pair of NE10 wins over the weekend, registering four points on three goals and an assist (3-1=4) for what were his first offensive points of the season. He had a plus-4 rating and a game-winning goal as well.
Against Southern New Hampshire on Friday, Nov. 9, Almeida scored his first career goal at the 12:47 of the second period to give the Hawks a 5-3 lead. He also assisted on Saint Anselm's fifth goal that came just under three minutes after his original goal.
During Saturday's win over Assumption, Almeida scored twice, including the game-winner at 15:08 of the first period. His second goal of the game came early in the third period on a short-handed bid for the final goal of the game.
In his career, Almeida has three goals and three assists for six points across 53 games.
Almeida and the rest of the Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team head to Shelton, Connecticut to face the Eagles of Post University for two games this weekend. The first game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
