MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey junior Mike Ferraro (Northbridge, Mass.) was named Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Ferraro helped the Hawks go 2-0-0 over the weekend, posting three points with two goals and an assist. During a 2-1 win over Stonehill College on Jan. 11, he scored the tying goal with just 1:34 gone off the clock on the power play. In Saint Anselm's 5-2 triumph over the Skyhawks on Jan. 12, Ferraro picked up the secondary assist on what would be the game-winning goal with six seconds left in the second period. He then went on to score at the 6:46 mark of the third period to give the Hawks a 4-2 lead.
On the year, Ferraro leads the team with seven goals and is in a three-way tie for second most points on the team with 11. He is currently on a four-game point streak with three goals and two assists during that span. Ferraro becomes the fourth student-athlete of the men's ice hockey program to earn this weekly honor in 2018-19 and it is the second-straight week a member of the Hawks has received the honor.
In his career, Ferraro has appeared in 65 games and has potted 29 goals and has 19 assists for 48 points.
Ferraro and the rest of the Hawks begin their two-game series against Greyhounds from Assumption College on Friday, Jan. 18 in Worcester, Mass. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:35 p.m. at the Charles J. Buffone Arena.
