MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior attack Ryan Hesseltine of the Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team was named the program's first Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week in nearly four years on Tuesday.
Hesseltine established new career-high totals in goals (5), assists (3) and points (8) for No. 17-ranked Saint Anselm in a season-opening 19-2 victory at Post on Saturday. The senior's performance led him to become the first Hawk to earn NE10 Player of the Week honors since Ryan Mee on March 24, 2014.
In addition to his offensive output, Hesseltine grabbed eight ground balls, easily surpassing his previous career high of three, for the Hawks. The Westford, Mass. product's five goals already have him one-third of the way to his single-season record of 15 from a year ago.
In 28 career games, Hesseltine has totaled 28 goals and 13 assists for 41 points, while also contributing 28 ground balls.
Next up for Saint Anselm is a matchup of nationally-ranked teams against No. 10 Adelphi on Saturday, Mar. 17 at Motamed Field in Garden City, N.Y.
