Busconi led the Hawks, the 16th-ranked team in NCAA Division II, in point scoring this past week. Saint Anselm defeated No. 9-ranked Pace on Wednesday, Apr. 11 by a 12-7 margin before cruising past Bentley, 14-8, on Senior Day this past Saturday, Apr. 14. The win over Pace was his team's first against a top-10 opponent since the 2012 campaign.
Against Pace, Busconi fired home three goals and three assists for six points (3-3=6). His final goal led off the fourth quarter and capped off a four-goal run by the Hawks that ended any chance of a Setters comeback down the stretch. He ended up potting two goals in the final 12:03 of regulation time, maintaining the Saint Anselm victory.
Versus Bentley on Saturday, Busconi scored two of the game's first three goals to set the tone early for his squad on Senior Day. Later in the game, with his team tied at six shortly into the third quarter, he potted what proved to be the game-winning goal with the man advantage.
Through 10 games played this season, Busconi has scored 22 goals and nine assists for 31 points (22-9=31). Across a career that has spanned 26 games to date, Busconi has notched 75 points via 46 goals and 29 assists (46-29=75).
The Hawks head to Assumption this Saturday, Apr. 21 for a 4 p.m. showdown with the Greyhounds.
