AMHERST, Mass. – Senior Drew Bourdeau of the Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team was named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Academic All-New England team on Monday.
Bourdeau was one of 92 total selections from New England's NCAA Division I, II and III men's lacrosse programs. Nominees included those in senior academic standing, a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better and those significant enough to be nominated for an All-Conference award in their respective conferences.
The Co-Chair of Saint Anselm's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Bourdeau is a two-time captain for the men's lacrosse team. With SAAC, he has helped lead a variety of initiatives, including opening the college's Hope Happens Here chapter.
As a mathematics and secondary education major, Bourdeau has been named to the Dean's List and Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll a combined 10 times at Saint Anselm. He has also served as a New Student Orientation leader for the past three years and has been part of numerous other community service activities.
A two-time All-NE10 choice and three-time NEILA All-Region selection, Bourdeau started 56 of his 57 games for the Hawks over his four-year career. He totaled 129 ground balls and 62 caused turnovers while also scoring a pair of goals. His play helped Saint Anselm improve from 2-11 in his freshman season of 2015 to 11-5 in 2018.
Most recently, Bourdeau was named as a finalist for the 2017-18 NE10 Man of the Year award. The winner will be announced at the NE10 year-end banquet in Garden City, N.Y. next month.
