AMHERST, Mass. – Xavier Quinn '19, a member of the nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team earned placement on the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Academic Team.
Quinn is one of 128 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II and III men's lacrosse teams across New England. To qualify for the award, one must have senior standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be a significant enough player that he was nominated for at least All-Conference selection.
A Criminal Justice major, Quinn picked up Second Team All-New England honors from the NEILA after securing Third Team All-League honors from the Northeast-10 Conference.
Quinn was a Second Team selection in 2018 and finished fifth on the team this past season in point scoring, scoring 17 times and adding 14 assists for a career-high 31 points (17-14=31). Tallying at least one point in all but one game, he posted three goals and two assists for five points (3-2=5) against Saint Rose on Apr. 23 and had an eight-game goal scoring streak from Mar. 21 to Apr. 13.
In 56 games, Quinn scored 54 goals with 33 assists for 87 points (54-33=87) with 44 ground balls. He received the department's prestigious Charles J. Quinn Sportsmanship Award honors at the End of the Year Highlights & Awards Presentation – the award is issued to a student-athlete who best exemplifies and demonstrates the values of sportsmanship, on and off the playing surface.
