LUDLOW, Vt. – Benji Page's fifth-place finish highlighted the Saint Anselm College men's and women's skiing teams' performances at the giant slalom at Okemo Mountain on Friday, as the men finished fourth and the women placed sixth.
After a 10th-place finish in the slalom on Thursday, Page put together the second-fastest run of the day in his second run (1:15.42) to finish fifth (2:34.24), a little over a half-second behind the top finisher. Stephen McLeod posted a top-20 finish, coming in 19th overall (2:41.81) after two consistent runs. Alex Gowen and Luke Heald finished 23rd and 29th with times of 2:43.35 and 2:47.27, respectively. Michael Mullaney was 33rd and Alex Conrad placed 37th.
Jill Murray paced the women with a 15th-place finish, shaving nearly two seconds off her first run for a two-run time of 2:45.52. In her second run, Katharine Graham knocked off over three seconds from her first run to finish 29th (2:58.53). Sara Faigel and Katherine Quinn were separated by just over a second over two runs to place 38th and 39th, while Isabelle Daigle came in 55th.
The Hawks visit West Mountain in Queensbury, N.Y. on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 21-22.
