MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Jacob Rostkowski (Rockport, Mass.) of the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team was selected as the Goalkeeper of the Week by the Northeast-10 Conference on Monday.
Rostkowski helped the Hawks go 1-0-1 in the final week of the regular season, posting nine saves while helping Saint Anselm pick up their first win of the 2018 campaign in the season finale against Southern Connecticut University, 3-2, on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Rostkowski had six saves in the victory, none was bigger than the stop he had with 5:44 left in regulation. The Owls were trailing by one goal and were awarded a penalty kick. Daniel Utgaard shot the ball towards the left side of the net, but Rostkowski was up to the task, diving to his right and keeping the ball out of the net to preserve the one-goal victory for Saint Anselm.
During his team's 1-1 tie against Bentley on Tuesday, Oct. 23, Rostkowski made three saves in the contest.
His .810 save percentage and 81 saves against NE10 opponents in 2018 were tops in the league.
The Rockport, Mass. native has three shutouts in his career at the Hilltop with a career .766 save percentage and 1.65 goals-against-average.
