MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Michael Budrewicz (Uccle, Belgium) of the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team was selected as the Player of the Week by the Northeast-10 Conference on Monday.
Budrewicz started the 2019 season with three goals and an assist in just one game against Saint Thomas Aquinas on Saturday. He was the first Hawks student-athlete to earn Player of the Week honors since Joshua Rocco '12 accomplished the feat on Oct. 12, 2010.
He now stands as one of only seven student-athletes to have earned seven points in a single game. He was also the first Hawks student-athlete to do so in the first half of play since Rob Roach '72 against Assumption on Oct. 9, 1971.
With one game into the season, Budrewicz has already broken his 2018 points total of six. After the opening week of action, he was ranked first in the league and second in the nation for points and goals.
Budrewicz and the Hawks will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 11 when the Hawks host Roberts Wesleyan at 3 p.m.
