WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Benji Page won both his matches and classmate Kyle Harris earned a three-set singles victory for the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team in a 6-3 defeat at Assumption College on Saturday.
Assumption (3-5, 1-1 NE10) earned a pair of victories in doubles and went on to win four singles matches to secure the win. Page picked up a straight-set victory at No. 6 singles and paired with Daniel Kmetz for a win at No. 3 doubles, while Harris outlasted Jameson Keppeler at fifth singles for Saint Anselm (1-13, 0-7 NE10).
Page's 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Luke Whitehouse at sixth singles ran the senior's record to 8-7, with the eight victories being the most on the team. Harris won the first set of his match against Keppeler, 6-4, before Keppeler claimed the second by the same score, but Harris secured the super tiebreak, 10-4.
Kmetz and Page's doubles win came by a 9-7 margin at the No. 3 spot against Keppeler and Whitehouse. Assumption's pairs of Ryan Foster and Reb Mariano and Max Francis and Danny Waung provided the Greyhounds with two doubles points.
Saint Anselm hosts Saint Michael's on Tuesday, Apr. 3 at 3 p.m. for the team's Senior Day.
