Men's tennis handed 7-0 loss by Merrimack

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team was defeated by the visiting Warriors from Merrimack College, 7-0.


The Hawks fall to 0-4 on the season while Merrimack, competing in its first head-to-head match of the season, improves to 1-0.

Freshman Michael Rosen (Andover, Mass.) sprinted out to a 6-3 opening-set win, but his counterpart at No. 1 singles rallied back to record a 6-3, 10-8 win to close the match. Freshman Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) had a close second set at No. 2 singles, but fell by a 6-2, 6-4 margin.

Merrimack won all but one game in doubles play, posting 6-0 victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Saint Anselm will host Post at Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 2 p.m.
