Men's tennis has 6-1 setback to Franklin Pierce

MANCHESTER, N.H.– The Saint Anselm men's tennis team was handed a 6-1 loss to Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Sunday afternoon from the South Athletic Courts. 


It was the final match of the fall season for the Hawks, who fall to 0-8 on the year and 0-4 in league play, while the Ravens improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in NE10 action.

Freshman Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) picked up a tough win at the top singles flight with the scores of 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3) against James Bisazza. At No. 2 singles senior Daniel Kmetz (Amston, Conn.) battled in the first set, before eventually falling 6-4. He was swept in the second set.

In the top doubles flight, the duo of Hall and freshman Michael Rosen (Andover, Mass.) had a close contest against Roberto Chong and Nkrumah Patrick. However, the freshman combination for the Hawks lost 6-4. At No. 2 doubles Kmetz and freshman Richard Flandreau (New Fairfield, Conn.) had a 6-3 setback against Preston Gordon and Yuval Barak.

The spring schedule for the men's tennis program will be announced in the coming weeks.
