Men's tennis has 5-2 setback against Muhlenberg

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-2 decision to Muhlenberg College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks fall to 0-11 on the year while the Mules move to 3-3. Saint Anselm returns to action on Thursday, Mar. 7 against Cornerstone University at 8 a.m. in Kissimmee, Fla.

Freshman Rit Flandreau (New Fairfield, Conn.) picked up an exciting three-set victory at No. 5 singles. He won the first set 6-3 before falling in the second set by a score of 4-6. He battled back to take the third set, 10-5. Senior Daniel Kmetz (Amston, Conn.) took down Daniel Kantor at No 4 singles in three sets as well. The first set was a 6-3 win for Kmetz before he lost the second set 4-6. He pulled out a close 12-10 victory in the third set.

Freshman Michael Rosen (Andover, Mass.) lost his contest in straight sets at No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-4 against Noah Sellenger while sophomore transfer Sam Kluger (Nashua N.H.) battled in a two-set defeat at No. 3 singles.

Rosen and Flandreau teamed up at No. 2 doubles and picked up a 6-2 victory. Kmetz and freshman Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) lost a close match in the top doubles flight by a 6-4 margin.
