Men's tennis falls to Cornerstone, 7-0

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Cornerstone University on Thursday morning.

The Hawks fall to 0-12 on the season while the Golden Eagles improve to 8-6. Saint Anselm will wrap up its Florida trip on Friday, Mar. 8 against Cedarville University at 8 a.m.

At No. 1 singles, freshman Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) battled to a 6-4 defeat in the first set against John Cocoma before losing the second set by a score of 6-2. Freshman Rit Flandreau (New Fairfield, Conn.) lost in straight sets at No. 5 singles. He lost the first set 6-0, but battled in the second set before falling by a 7-5 margin.

Sophomore transfer Sam Kluger (Nashua, N.H.) played a tough match at No. 3 singles, falling by scores of 6-3, 6-2.

In the top doubles flight, the duo of senior Daniel Kmetz (Amston, Conn.) and Hall lost a close match to Tomas Yacuzio and Aliaksei Kanstansina by a 6-4 margin.
