Men's tennis caps Florida trip with loss to Cedarville

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team concluded its spring break trip with a 7-0 to Cedarville University on Friday morning.

The Hawks drop to 0-13 on the season while the Yellow Jackets improve to 10-1 on the year. Saint Anselm will return to the courts on Thursday, Mar. 28 for a 3:30 p.m. contest against Northeast-10 Conference foe Stonehill College.

At No. 2 singles, freshman Michael Rosen (Andover, Mass.) battled in a three-set loss to Timmy O'Brien. After falling in the first set, Rosen took the second set, only losing one game in the process. The two battled to a 10-6 final in the third set, which went to O'Brien.

Senior Daniel Kmetz (Amston, Conn.) also had to play three sets for a decision at No. 4 singles. Kmetz took the first set in a close 6-4 margin. He dropped the second set by a score of 6-2, before battling Dawson Poling to a 10-6 final in the final set.

Kmetz and sophomore transfer Sam Kluger (Nashua, N.H.) earned a tough 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles over Cole Moss and Poling. However, the Hawks lost by forfeit at No. 3 doubles and dropped a 6-1 decision in the top doubles flight, giving the point to the Yellow Jackets.
